Ru-b-Ru with eminent writer Manmohan Bawa

 

Today Post Graduate Department of Punjabi, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized Ru-b-Ru with eminent Punjabi writer and thinker Sh. Manmohan Bawa. College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest and said that his writings are rich tapestry of cultural and geographical explorations which are crucial for historical and cultural learning. Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Head, Department of Punjabi formally introduced the speaker to the audience and discussed literary and creative aspects of his life.

Sh. Manmohan Bawa shared his life experiences, struggles and different phases of his writing career with the audience. He said that he was immensely inspired by Hindi writer Rahul Sankrityayan’s style of writing. He also elaborated how travelling enriches our life experiences and one of the best methods to understand different communities and their cultures. It also broadens our thinking horizons. Ru-b-Ru was open for discussion, in which students from different streams participated enthusiastically.

On this occasion, a memento was presented to the honourable Chief Guest. Dr. Davinder Singh conducted the stage. Dr. Veerpal Kaur presented the vote of thanks. Vice Principal Prof. Nirmal Singh, Prof. Baljinder Kaur, Prof. Shailendra Sidhu, Prof. Neena Sareen, Dr. Ajit Kumar, Dr. Ganesh Kumar, Prof. Harmohan Sharma, Prof. Parminder Kaur and Prof. Nishan Singh and all teachers of Punjabi Department were present in this event.

 

 

ਅੱਜ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਾਮਵਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੁੱਧ ਚਿੰਤਕ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਬਾਵਾ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੂ-ਬ-ਰੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀਨ ਸਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਸਮੀ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸੀਮਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰੱਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਿੱਤੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰਲੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਚਰ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਦੌਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਬਾਵਾ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾਤਮਕਤਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਨਰ-ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਅਦਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਬਾਵਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਪਾਸਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀਕੋਣ ‘ਤੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਪਾਈ।

ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤਕਾਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਬਾਵਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਧਾਰਨਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਣਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਜੀਉਣ ਦੀ ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਪੱਖਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਸਥਾਨਾ, ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਾਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਚਰਨ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੁਭਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਆਗ਼ਾਜ਼ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਲੇਖਕ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਸੰਕਰਤਾਇਨ ਦੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਲਪ ਦੀ ਪਿਉਂਦ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ, ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਰਚਣ ਵੱਲ ਰੁਚਿਤ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਬਾਵਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਪੱਖਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਸੁਆਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਸੱਲੀਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਜੁਆਬ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸਟੇਜ ਸੰਭਾਲਨ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਬਾਖ਼ੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ।

ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਧੰਨਵਾਦੀ ਮਤਾ ਡਾ. ਵੀਰਪਾਲ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਉਪ-ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨਿਰਮਲ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਬਲਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸ਼ੈਲੇਂਦਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ, ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
